Ras al Khaimah’s Gateway City
Last period of time, United Arab Emirates has become one of the most suitable places on Earth for building an eco-city, based exclusively on solar energy. Competing the zero waste, car-free, carbon neutral Masdar city designed by Norman Foster and partners, Rem Koolhaas conceived another ecological masterpiece: The Gateway City.
Situated on the emirate of Ras al Khaimah and expanded on 1.2 million square meter area, The Gateway City planes to offer you anything you need inside the boundaries of the city, although it might be easily connected to all of Ras al Khaimah’s most important trade routes. The estimated time for completion has been set at 2012.
