TO THOSE WHO DON'T WANT THEIR WORK PROMOTED

Hey guys and gals! We FIND and PROMOTE people's work, we never take credit for things we haven't written, we just love sharing the things that are interesting, but if you don't want your work or pictures shown, please let me know and I'll take it off, we're not trying to harm any one here or infringe on anyone's copyrights, just late night entertainment for my friends and I after a long days of work.

We're not making money off the site, nor are we publishing anything to other places through feedburner claiming that it's our work, just a hobby of finding cool things around the internet, that's all. Sometimes we copy and paste too quickly and a link giving you credit doesn't appear, if that's the case and you DO want your work promoted, we will add in the backlink, we would love to give credit where credit is due!

Please contact me or drop a comment on any posts you guys don't want up and I'll take it off within 24 hours, thanks!

BMW Concept CS - BMW Talk

The BMW Concept CS is probably the sexiest BMW since the BMW M1. No kidding, this is a stormer, and it’s the kind of 4-door coupe that has what it takes to become a classic supercar too, in my opinion.

The interior is as excellent as the exterior, and that’s probably one of the reasons this car also has real potential in markets worldwide… Go for it, BMW!

Robber holds up bank, doesn't bother to get off his cellphone

Make no mistake, we've seen some fairly boneheaded moves (even someone rocking this very same gaffe!) made by technologically-illiterate bank robbers, but the latest case involves a fellow who was quite the opposite of that. Yes, the 20 to 25 year male who decided to hold up an Alabama bank the day before his taxes were due actually did the deed without hanging up his cellphone. And there's surveillance footage to prove it. Quite honestly, we can't imagine what the conversation here would've been like, but at least he made the most of whatever minutes he had remaining as a free man, right?

Stop Procrastinating - act, and keep acting

Action pays off. To make money online, the more you act, the more and the faster you’ll get paid.

For many people, procrastination can be a big problem. When you procrastinate, you are postponing or delaying tasks that need to be worked on. This can cause stress, anxiety, and even financial loss. Procrastination tends to be a habit. If you normally get your work done on time, but have had occasional circumstances where you missed a deadline, you probably have nothing to worry about. However, if you find yourself intentionally delaying your tasks, you may be a procrastinator. Here are some tips on how to stop procrastinating, and how to start getting things done.

You may be suffering from a lack of focus. When you have a lot of ideas swarming around in your head, it can be hard to concentrate on one of them long enough to get it started and completed. Take some time and focus on your business; visualize where you want your business to go. If you find yourself working on something that isn’t going to actually grow your business, stop working on it and move on to a task that will.

Some people tend to procrastinate over things they do not enjoy doing. Perhaps you hate keeping track of receipts and balancing your books. Instead of putting this task off to the end of the day, schedule it for the first activity of the day. Give yourself a reward when you complete the task. You also have the option of outsourcing the tasks that you do not want to do yourself.

If you tend to put open-ended tasks on your to-do list that never get accomplished, you may want to start setting goals for yourself. If you simply tell yourself, ìI need to write and distribute five articles,î you may never get around to doing it. However, if you tell yourself, ìI need to write and distribute five articles by the 25th you will have a due date, which can help motivate you.

If you find yourself delaying the start of a complex project, it may just be too big for you to grasp all at once. Break the project down into smaller pieces. Instead of focusing on a huge project, you are only focusing on specific, manageable tasks.

Perfectionists tend to delay things because they want everything to be perfect. Realize that there is no such thing as perfect; it is okay to have high standards and want to complete things to the best of your ability. However, if you find yourself putting undue stress on yourself, ease up and let good be good enough.

Some people actually have a fear of success, or failure, and that is why they delay starting and completing tasks. If you think you may suffer from this, you may want to consult a professional who can work with you and help you overcome your fears. In the meantime, visualize how you will feel when you complete the task.

Old habits can be hard to change, but with a little time and effort, you can learn new habits that will help you start and finish your projects on time.

The twists and turns of Rubik's Cube 'speedcubing' - Los Angeles Times - THIS IS CHRISTINA TO'S EX-BF IN HS RIGHT?

Rubik's Cube champion Tyson Mao.

Rubik's Cube champion Tyson Mao tosses a cube at La Cienega Park in Beverly Hills.

By Elina Shatkin, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
April 17, 2008
Forget calculus, spelling bees and chess. With the exception of Dungeons & Dragons, no pastime so exemplifies nerdiness as the ability to solve a Rubik's Cube. So it's a bit surprising, even disappointing, to learn that solving the Cube doesn't require the intellect of Albert Einstein or a "Rain Man"-like facility with numbers.

Yes, says Tyson Mao, the 23-year-old co-founder of the World Cube Assn., "Anyone can solve a Rubik's Cube. I could probably take any random person off the street and in 90 minutes teach them how to do it."

But for the masses, the Rubik's Cube can still seem like an impenetrable puzzle -- a notion that will get thrown for a loop on Saturday when the association hosts its second annual Cubing at the Cube event at the Discovery Science Center. It's an evening of speed solving, where anyone and everyone is encouraged to compete.

Mao once held the record for solving the 3-by-3-by-3 Rubik's Cube while blindfolded. His younger brother Toby, a cello performance major at Northwestern University, once held the world record for a 3-by-3-by-3 single solve (10.48 seconds). But that was two or three years ago. Times have changed. Records have been shattered. Mao's time of 1 minute, 5 seconds, seems positively sluggish compared with Alexander Yu's current record of just over 1 minute.

"These kids have hours and hours to spend practicing. I'm not in school. I just don't have the time anymore," says Mao, who soon will start a new job trading energy futures for a hedge fund in midtown Manhattan. But cubing remains in his blood. "Rubik's Cube has changed my life. Without it, I have no idea where I would be right now."

The Mao brothers were hired to teach Will Smith how to solve the cube for his role in "The Pursuit of Happyness." "They could have just done it with effects," Mao says, "but Will really wanted to learn how to do it. When it looks like he's solving it in the movie, he's actually solving it."

Invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and architecture professor Erno Rubik, the six-sided, rainbow-colored mechanical puzzle hit the peak of its popularity in the 1980s. The fad waned, but loyalists remained, developing the sport of "speedcubing" on their own or in small groups. In 2004, the Caltech Rubik's Cube Club began hosting competitions, and cubers came out of the woodwork.

Today, the speedcubing community has its rules, its champions and soon, its own documentary. "CubeFreak," which features Mao and other top solvers, will screen at the Newport Beach Film Festival in late April.

Don't think, however, that these gatherings are total nerdfests.

"It's a huge misconception that Rubik's Cube solvers are mathy, geeky, socially inept people who don't date," Mao says.

Sure, Mao has an astrophysics degree from Caltech -- and a three-episode stint on the second season of "Beauty and the Geek" to his credit -- but his talents include juggling, piano and violin, and he's nurturing a nascent interest in wine tasting.

But has he gotten any better at talking to girls? "That," he says with a slight blush, "remains to be seen."

As gas prices continue to rise to almost $4 a gallon, more and more people are beginning to wonder if and when it will ever end. Some are even wondering what has happened to cause the prices to jump up in the past years. So, let’s start with the question, “What is causing gas prices to skyrocket?”

Rising Prices

According to National Public Radio (NPR), the biggest factor in the growing gas prices across the United States is due to the price of crude oil as well as the cost of refining it. For example, if you purchase gasoline for your car at $2.90 per gallon, approximately $1.60 of that is crude oil. The remaining 55 cents covers taxes and distribution costs/marketing. The cost of crude oil has been increasing over the past few years due to supply and demand. The countries that produce crude oil are experiencing supply problems due to refineries being shut down for maintenance as well as those refineries that are still recovering from weather-related incidents beyond their control.

In the end, however, the global market is what has the final say in setting crude-oil prices. Translation: the market decides what most people would be willing to pay for at the gas pump. This is what is causing the gas prices escalate. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but because other countries (like China) are growing, they require more fuel. Additionally, because there have been political problems between oil-producing nations and non oil-producing nations, this has caused a bit of a predicament when it comes to getting oil prices lowered.

Trends towards Change?

While many Americans claim that they are saving gasoline, the statistics show a totally different story. In fact, more Americans than ever are purchasing gasoline. Let’s face it- none of us want to end up paying $4 per gallon for a tank of gasoline, but if the price reached $4 per gallon, we’d probably still pay it. Now, there are other fuel alternatives that are in the works to help ween Americans off of their addiction to regular gasoline and these include:

  • Ethanol- alcohol based, made from starch crops such as sugar cane, corn, barley and wheat. When you mix this with gasoline, it can fuel cars.
  • Natural Gas- made up mostly of methane and hydrocarbons.
  • Propane- liquefied petroleum gas.
  • Hydrogen-still being experimented with
  • Biodiesel-created from vegetable oils, animal fat or recycled restaurant greases. When you combine of these elements with petroleum, it fuels cars while giving off less pollution
  • P-series fuel- still being experimented with
  • Electricity

The Answer to Fuel Economy

Drive less, buy a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle. Gas prices won’t be going down anytime soon, but at least we can be prepared. For more information on automobile transportation services, contact National Transport LLC with you questions.
