TO THOSE WHO DON'T WANT THEIR WORK PROMOTED
We're not making money off the site, nor are we publishing anything to other places through feedburner claiming that it's our work, just a hobby of finding cool things around the internet, that's all. Sometimes we copy and paste too quickly and a link giving you credit doesn't appear, if that's the case and you DO want your work promoted, we will add in the backlink, we would love to give credit where credit is due!
Please contact me or drop a comment on any posts you guys don't want up and I'll take it off within 24 hours, thanks!

The Ultimate Rejection Letter
Herbert A. Millington
Chair - Search Committee
412A Clarkson Hall, Whitson University
College Hill, MA 34109
Dear Professor Millington,
Thank you for your letter of March 16. After careful consideration, I
regret to inform you that I am unable to accept your refusal to offer me
an assistant professor position in your department.
This year I have been particularly fortunate in receiving an unusually
large number of rejection letters. With such a varied and promising field
of candidates, it is impossible for me to accept all refusals.
Despite Whitson's outstanding qualifications and previous experience in
rejecting applicants, I find that your rejection does not meet my needs at
this time. Therefore, I will assume the position of assistant professor
in your department this August. I look forward to seeing you then.
Best of luck in rejecting future applicants.
Sincerely,
Chris L. Jensen
THIS IS WHAT THESE PERSONALITY TESTS SAY ABOUT ME, DO YOU GUYS THINK IT'S TRUE?
Your answers suggest you are a Big Thinker
The four aspects that make up this personality type are:
Summary of Big-Thinkers
- Outspoken, ingenious and bored by routine
- Think of themselves as talkative, curious and self-sufficient
- May neglect the routine work required to make their plans successful
More about Big-Thinkers
Big Thinkers are always looking for the next big idea or opportunity. They’re adept at spotting trends and thinking on their feet. Big Thinkers like to jump in and find innovative solutions to complex problems and are good at developing strategies for the future.
In the UK, Big Thinkers are most likely to book a holiday at short notice, according to a nationwide survey.
Big Thinkers are usually curious, logical and energetic. This chatty group enjoys a good debate and asserting their opinions. Sometimes others may find the way they express their ideas too abrupt or challenging.
In situations where they can't use their talents or are unappreciated, Big Thinkers may be rude, critical of others or rebellious. Under extreme stress, Big Thinkers can become preoccupied with unimportant details and lose sight of the 'big picture'.
Big Thinkers may ignore important details in their plans and overlook the impact their ideas have on the people around them.
Big-Thinker Careers
The entrepreneurial spirit of the Big Thinkers often leads them to seek new challenges; this is often more important to them than working in a particular field or a specific career.
It's important to remember that no survey can predict personality type with 100 percent accuracy. Experts say that we should use personality type to better understand ourselves and others, but shouldn't feel restricted by our results.

Bin Bin Crumpled Waste Paper Basket
This trash can looks like a casualty of a frustrated writer with writer’s block. Designer John Brauer of Essay designed the Bin Bin Wastebasket to look like the contents it’s intended to receive. This is not paper however, its high density polyurethane so we don’t recommend trying to crush this in your bare hand. Stick to crumpling the trite mindless drivel you’re trying to pass of as a screenplay and buy the Bin Bin so you can take solace in the fact that while your writing skills suck, your taste in home decor does not.

Report: Yahoo, Microsoft execs in talks - Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal:
Executives from Yahoo Inc. and Microsoft Corp. met to talk about the possibility of a deal for the first time since Microsoft's $44.6 billion offer was rejected, according to reports Friday.
The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter, said the meeting was mainly so Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) could outline its plan for the combined company.
No bankers were present, the Journal reported.
Sunnyvale-based Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) shares rose on the news, going up to $27.96 in morning trading after closing at $26.79.
In February Yahoo was hit with seven shareholder lawsuits claiming that the Internet company mishandled its response to the takeover bid.
Four suits were filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court and three in Delaware by pension funds that own Yahoo stock.
Yahoo said earlier that the offer undervalues the company.
Microsoft, in response, began readying a proxy fight that could unseat the 10-member board, including Jerry Yang, co-founder and chief executive.

A Cup of Tea
Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.
Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.
The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"
"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?
Learnings from Life: Love vs Marriage
One day, Plato asked his teacher, "What is love? How can I find it?"
His teacher answered, "There is a vast wheat field in front. Walk forward without turning back, and pick only one stalk. If you find the most magnificent stalk, then you have found love."
Plato walked forward, and before long, he returned with empty hands, having picked nothing. His teacher asked, "Why did you not pick any stalk?" Plato answered, "Because I could only pick once, and yet I could not turn back. I did find the most magnificent stalk, but did not know if there were any better ones ahead, so I did not pick it. As I walked further, the stalks that I saw were not as good as the earlier one, so I did not pick any in the end.
His teacher then said, "And that is love."
On another day, Plato asked his teacher, "What is marriage? How can find it?"His teacher answered, "There is a thriving forest in front. Walk forward without turning back, and chop down only one tree. If you find the tallest tree, then you have found marriage." Plato walked forward, and before long, he returned with a tree. The tree was not thriving, and it was not tall either. It was an ordinary tree. His teacher asked, "Why did you chop down such an ordinary tree?"
Plato answered, "Because of my previous experience. I walked halfway through the forest, but returned with empty hands. This time, I saw this tree, and I felt that it was not bad, so I chopped it down and brought it back. I did not want to miss the opportunity."
His teacher then said, "And that is marriage."

It's-a-me! Mario Bar!
It's-a-me: Mario Bar!
February 15, 2008 | Scrollbar @ IT University of Copenhagen
Scrollbar hosts the official weekly Fredagbar (Friday Bar) of IT University of Copenhagen. A number of us study games in the "Media, Technology, and Games" Masters program. Thus, we thought it only appropriate to embrace our inner geek and throw a Mario-themed night. We pooled our vast knowledge of mixing and alcohols (this is Denmark, after all) to craft ten unique Mario-theme drinks. They not only look like their corresponding characters, but they taste like them too! Okay, well, not actually like the characters themselves (we're not cannibals), but rather the qualities they imbue (e.g. sweet, harsh, frutiy, etc.). The most popular cocktail was the Yoshi. But all our recipes were very well-received. We encourage you to give them a try - but please credit us if you do! (Note: "cl" stands for centileter. Two cl approximately equals one "shot") Questions? Comments? Reach us at: pr (AT) scrollbar (DOT) dk |

Decorations | ||||||
Stars, question-mark blocks, and bricks were created by cutting colored fabric, spray painting the pieces (using custom-made paper stencils), then sewing the pieces over foam. These decorations were then hung from strings that ran across the room. As a bonus, we hid chocolate coins on the top of the question-mark blocks. Yes, they could be redeemed for their value in drinks! Printed menus were placed on tables throughout Scrollbar so that patrons knew what special drinks were available. Finally, we projected videos of Mario speedruns and Kaizo Mario on the wall. | ||||||
